read between the lines



To produce a designed response to a common phrase or figure of speech.



Five A1 posters titled Coffee, Chocolate, Jeans, Child and Brexit were designed for an augmented reality experience for the phrase, ‘Read Between the Lines’. Barcodes are usually located on packaging to allow shops to quickly view costs. However, we don’t see the reasoning to why products are priced as they are. This project takes the meaning of the phrase and applies it by presenting the cost breakdown of each title. The viewer uses their phone to scan (read) the barcode (lines) which animates one of the five posters and displays their specific cost breakdowns.
